Most Activate Games rooms are run on a custom C++ game engine. This engine runs both the logic for the in game objects, as well as coordinate, poll, and command the room hardware.

I created ProjectARM (Activate Rhythm Mode) as a proof-of-concept extension to this engine. The extension synchronized audio and video playback both to allow for more dynamic and fluid visuals, and to allow game play elements to be done in sync with them.

I then used the extension to create a rhythm game proof of concept, providing a demonstration of the new multimedia capabilities and how they could support future game concepts and experiences for Activate Games' Control room and other rooms.

Flashing Lights Warning

This video contains flashing lights and rapidly changing colors.

Please do not continue if those elements may affect you.

This demo runs a C++ core compiled to WebAssembly. The core handles all logic and frame data. The Javascript game framework Phaser is used as a frontend and only draws the frame data to the webpage.
